dad: you should watch brokeback mountain
me: why? i’m not much for love stories
dad: well, it’ll help explain some things about me and how i feel
me: are you trying to tell me your gay?
dad: no, i’m trying to say i’m bi! (he was 65 at the time)
me: well, whatever.
dad: you knew?
me: you would check guys out right along with me and your favorite bands are abba and queen…it’s not hard to figure out.
dad: haha. well…i worried for nothing.
he struggled with that for years and words can’t express how proud i am of him for finally accepting himself :)
