The Immortal Highlander
One night my parents and I were watching Highlander on Netflix when, lo and behold, Duncan McCloud was suddenly shirtless. Again. So, as usual, I squinted my eyes shut and made a face until it was over, which made my dad tease me a bit about boys and whatnot. And I felt this weird little urge to say something so…
Me: I’m pretty sure I’m gay.
Dad: (laughs) Like we didn’t know.
Mom: Whatever makes you happy, we’ll stand by you. As long as it isn’t dangerous.
Me: Thanks you guys.
Mom: Be it Courtney, or whoever.
Me: (Surprise) She actually asked me out like two days ago.
Dad: There you go, then.
After that we went back to watching tv. My little brother and sister already knew and were off doing their own thing.
Coming out to friends was pretty much the same. Only two of them were actually surprised. The rest just said ‘ok’ and carried on without notice. It was really awesome. =]
Also, I don’t have a tumblr, but I was reading these and felt like sharing. I don’t get to tell a lot of people this.
