How I Came Out:
It all started when I got close to these two boys. One of them was bisexual also and I got quite close to him. He’d always talk about the guys he likes to me because obviously he thought that I was straight. A few months after we had become extremely close, he asked me. He asked me if I was bisexual, I felt so uncomfortable and simply said “no” to him, he repeatedly asked if I was sure, to which I answered “yes”. A few weeks later, he asked me again, the same thing was said and asked. Then around 2 months after the first time he asked me once more, I said no at first, but when he said “No seriously Chloe, you can trust me, I wont tell noone, are you Bi?” I finally told him I was. It was between me and him, then the other guy I knew asked too, to which I answered a simple “yes” because he was one of my best friends and I didn’t want to lie to him. The rest of the boys that I spoke to gradually found out as I begun to open up a tad more to them all.. It was a summer holiday.
Then school started, and I was out one weekend with friends from school (I go to an all girls school), I was texting the first boy about it because I was with the girl I liked and felt a bit awkward with the whole situation. All of my friends became curious about who I was texting and what about. They decided to take my phone and read all of my texts. To this day, not one of those girls are my friends anymore, they all stopped talking to me once they found out. They also decided to spread it around my whole school, so literally everyone in my year group and my whole school found out. This was in the summer of year 8 going into year 9; I am currently half way through year 10, and I have amazing friends who accept me for who I am. I am yet to tell my family, although my family like gay people, I’m worried about their reaction, Hopefully one day I can tell them.
