I told my mom, and she didn’t really freak out about it.
We were in the car, and after I told her, she didn’t really say much. So, I got out of the car where she was dropping me off.
My sister picked me up from there and took me home. We were going to go dogsit for one of our teachers, but we had to go pick some stuff up at our house first. So, I went up to my room and found a book lying on my bed entitled Same Sex in the City: So Your Prince Charming is Really a Cinderella. I turned around to see my mom standing in the doorway. She said, “I didn’t really know what to do, so I got you a book.”
So, her acceptance gave me the courage to tell my sister that evening at our teacher’s house while we were dogsitting. (That teacher is a lesbian too, so that helped me have courage to do it too.) I told her and she responded by saying, “I kinda guessed that. I keep trying to talk to you about guys and you’re never interested. So, I assumed you were either lesbian or asexual.”
“Haha. I’m far from asexual.”
She then proceeded to pull out her laptop and google a bunch of shirtless guys and asked me over and over again “How can you not think this is extremely hot?!”
